Welcome to My Liturgical Life! I’m Angie, and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m a Catholic wife and mother of two doing my best to help my family on their journey to Heaven. I’m here to share the ways that we incorporate the liturgical seasons, feast day celebrations, Baptism anniversaries, and more in our home. I hope to inspire you with ideas to put your faith at the center of your life through liturgical living!
Keeping Christ at the Center
Instilling a strong Catholic identity and understanding of our faith is important to me, so I work hard to incorporate all that I can into our family life. Our faith is not meant to be experienced only in the pew. We must put Christ at the center of our lives.
I’ve been celebrating the liturgical year in my home ever since my children were born, but things really ramped up when the churches closed in March of 2020 due to the pandemic. I jumped in with both feet to create a domestic church, and although our parish is back open, I plan to continue adding lessons and reinforcing our faith at home. I can’t wait to share my ideas and strategies with you.
I’m very active in my parish as well. I’m a Catechist who has taught 3rd Grade PSR since 2015, and First Communion and Confirmation prep for the past few years due to the change to Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation. Leading the Outdoor Games station at VBS is a little bit outside my comfort zone, but I love it! I’m generally a very quiet, soft-spoken person, but that won’t work when playing outdoor games with large groups of kids! Pre-COVID, I also helped lead Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) on Sunday mornings.
Mary’s “Yes!” is the example we all need to follow.
Mary’s fiat at the Annunciation changed everything. This is my favorite story from the Bible, and sharing how we celebrate it seemed appropriate for my first blog post. I said “yes” to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to start this blog. What will you say “yes” to? I would love to hear about it.
